Just finished catching up with The Good Wife season five. I went on a TGW binge and was captivated by the first season. I must warn you that if you continue reading I will spoil the big story of this current season. To start with I must say I was rooting for Will and Diane's partnership but knew that the thing between Will and Alisha could not continue. I must confess I am distraught over the sudden death of Will because he was the best part of the show along with Kolinda. Will she be the next to go?
I am not a or never have been a soap opera junkie. the more I watch the more I catch myself remembering the days when I was in grade school the Dark Shadows afternoon soaps. When I was home sick I could always watch General Hospital or All My Children. I made a decision early on in my life and I was not captivated by the world of trivial and trite-backstabbing behavior. In TGW this is just taken up a notch and going into the world of politics and litigation. The courtroom scenes have been catchy and terse. I don't have a clue about the world of lawyers and courtroom drama but do know how a surgeon looks upon all those hospital dramas. He won't watch any of them. This is probably because when you are seriously involved in the "real" situations the intensity of the moment and the complexity of individuals, it is impossible to consider their personal agenda.
I doubt that I will be able to continue to watch the show but I will be recording it so that I won't have to watch the repetitive commercials and propaganda. I don't oppose the propaganda once in a while however the constant drilling into the public's mind is brainwashing and I resent the constant bombardment and penetration into the minds of our populations. And shouldn't the name The Good Wife really be called the not-so-good-wife.
